With the Help of OpenAI, Salesforce Launches A.I. Tools for Salespeople

It's no secret that ChatGPT has become a hot topic.

According to the company's Tuesday announcement, the company is releasing software that incorporates artificial intelligence to help salespeople, customer service agents, marketers and other roles in the company to improve their productivity. Since Microsoft-backed chatGPT was released to the public in November, OpenAI's technology has taken the tech industry by storm. Salesforce calls the offering Einstein GPT.

In the technology sector, top companies are jockeying for position and trying to capitalize on generative AI, which can spit out text after learning from pools of internet data. In some cases, AI models display inaccurate information, so companies that sell to large organizations and governments should proceed cautiously.

Salesforce's Service Cloud CEO, Clara Shih, said in an interview that they are moving as quickly as possible without compromising the ethical approach.

While bringing AI features to its competing Dynamics 365 software, Microsoft is aiming to minimize the spread of incorrect information. In a follow-up announcement last month, Microsoft announced a customer service feature that automatically drafts emails, which can be added to a waiting list. A chatbot designed by OpenAI is also joining Microsoft's Bing search engine.

Salesforce will roll out a chat box in Service Cloud that will let customers ask questions and get answers based on Salesforce information. In addition to editing the automatic response, agents can also send it.

Activist investors have been pushing Salesforce to become more profitable recently, but the new features have not yet been priced or released. Initially, executives want to see how Salesforce's pilot program is going with enrolled organizations.

In order to prevent people from misinforming themselves about Einstein GPT's capabilities, Salesforce has taken a number of steps. Additionally, a human agent is involved, and the company has narrowed down the range of data that can influence the responses.

Marketing emails can be written with Salesforce and Microsoft's services. Copilot is the name Microsoft gives to its new Artificial Intelligence components in Dynamics applications.

Microsoft corporate vice president Charles Lamanna said it's not Autopilot. I'm the editor, so it gives me options. In the campaign, I choose the option."

Similarly, Salesforce offers a new Slack app called ChatGPT that displays Salesforce information. In a Monday media briefing, Shih said OpenAI has been using the app for a few months. A Salesforce spokesperson said there will be a waiting list for the Slack app.

Marc Benioff, CEO of Salesforce, is on board with the hype. On last week's earnings call, he talked about AI 14 times.

In a statement regarding the new offering, Benioff said in a statement that Einstein GPT will open the door to the next level of intelligence, including Tableau, MuleSoft and Slack, in our new AI world, by combining it with our Data Cloud and deeply integrated with Customer 360.

It took Salesforce over a year to give customers early access to the new features after working with OpenAI's language models.
