No Tesla Rivalry For Ferrari CEO

The most well-known supercar brand in the world has to be Ferrari. On the other hand, Tesla is the largest producer of electric vehicles worldwide. Will they ever cross paths, though?

In a recent interview with Bloomberg, the CEO of Ferrari stated that he does not view Tesla as a competitor. The most well-known manufacturer of performance automobiles in the world, Ferrari has a long history of developing quick vehicles. On the other hand, Tesla, the world's largest manufacturer of electric vehicles, was founded just 20 years ago. Due to impending tough pollution standards, conventional automakers will need to shift their focus to electrification. So, Tesla will unavoidably start to compete with Ferrari in the future.

Tesla is not a rival, according to Ferrari's CEO

Ferrari currently only offers a small number of hybrid vehicles. The first all-electric product from the Italian supercar juggernaut will make its debut in 2025, with a market launch set for 2026, according to Benedetto Vigna, its CEO. He was cited as saying, "For me, it's a functioning car," when asked about his thoughts on Telsa. On the other hand, he believes that Ferraris are emotive vehicles that offer their owners a distinctive driving experience. "It's supposed to get from one place to another."

Ferrari has promised that by 2030, more than 40% of its portfolio will be electrified. This indicates that it will soon begin making significant progress on electrifying its model lineup. In order to reach that goal, we might also observe the development of some completely new models. Yet, Tesla currently has a large range of models in its inventory that are useful, quick, inexpensive, and technologically advanced. Tesla will create fast automobiles in the future, so Ferrari and Tesla's products will inevitably interact.

"I just think a firm like us can't impose any option on clients, and that's why we'll maintain delivering a mix of technology for as long as it's practical," Vigna said as she wrapped up the conversation. This implies that it will continue to provide hybrid choices before converting to fully electric powertrains, he continued, adding that the key is "how to extract the best emotion from the use of this technology, delivering something unique to the clientele."
