NHL is switching from Adidas to Fanatics as its official jersey supplier

The National Hockey League announced on Tuesday that Fanatics will take Adidas' place as the official uniform supplier beginning with the 2024–2025 season.

With the 10-year agreement, the company's relationship with the NHL will be strengthened, and this will be the first time Fanatics branding will be seen on authorized player uniforms in professional sports. The deal's terms were not immediately known.

In a statement, Fanatics founder and CEO Michael Rubin stated, "This is a pivotal moment in the history of Fanatics, and a testament to the hands-on, collaborative partnership with the NHL that we've created over the years."

The NHL's online store is managed by Fanatics, which serves more than 90 million users globally. In addition to all headwear for players and coaches, the firm has produced the league's performance and training attire since 2018.

Also, through its memorabilia and collectibles segment, Fanatics has had enduring ties with more than 80 current and former hockey stars.

"Fanatics is a global leader in the sports industry and has a proven track record in e-commerce and retail operations... The additions Fanatics will make to the finest uniforms in all of sports should excite our players and supporters, according to NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman.

Following Adidas' announcement that it would not be seeking a renewal of its seven-year contract, the league alerted clothing firms in July that jersey rights were once again up for grabs.

Reebok relinquished the rights to Adidas beginning with the 2017–18 season. According to ESPN, that agreement was worth an estimated $70 million every year.

Fanatics announced on Tuesday that the upcoming NHL uniforms will be produced in Canada at the same factory that has been producing the league's on-ice gear for the past three decades. The business announced that it would create teams and increase resources over the next 18 months in order to get ready for the launch.

Fanatics stated that it would start collaborating with all 32 teams, equipment managers, and players right away.

Rubin added, "I can't wait to see our brand on official on-ice uniforms for the first time. Everything we do as a company pushes the boundaries to create more highly engaged experiences and breakthrough products for fans, athletes, and partners.”
