It has been noted that Forbes magazine, the American business magazine, ranked Bernard Arnault in the top 5 position of its 2023 list of the richest people in the world, followed by Twitter CEO, Elon Musk, in the second position.
Previously, Musk was ranked No. 1 by Forbes in its list of the top tech companies for 2022.
According to Forbes, Musk was the second-biggest loser in the race this year, following Musk, who had a worse situation than Musk currently has.
A year ago, Musk was the richest man in the world and we all know that he lost it after his pricey purchase of Twitter, which he paid in part by selling shares of Tesla, causing investors to panic. Musk is now the second richest man, worth $39 billion less than he was a year ago.
Bezos had a big fall in fortune this year due to the 38 per cent decline in Amazon shares, which hit him from the number two spot in the world in 2022 to third position this year.
The top 25 also contained two billionaires who no longer made it on the list and did not figure in the rankings this year because they lost their spots - Zhang Yiming and Changpeng Zhao.
There is a drop in Yiming's ranking from No. 25 to No. 26, as his embattled company, Tik Tok-parent Bytedance, has taken a knock from investors since the company took a haircut in January, while Zhao, the founder of Binance, knows as CZ, fell from No. 19 to No. 167 during the crypto winter this year.
