Dolce & Gabbana ventures into the world of real estate

April 3, 2023
minute read

Announcing its foray into real estate with three large-scale operations in the United States, Europe, and Asia, Dolce & Gabbana makes its debut in real estate. It has been explained in a statement that the Italian luxury house's goal is to "reinforce the lifestyle vocation inherent in its DNA," in an effort to expand its appeal.

Two residential projects in Miami, United States, and Marbella, Spain have been announced by the label headed by Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana, which has a turnover of over one billion euros. Additionally, there will be a hotel project in the Maldives in the center of the Indian Ocean with three different partners, one for each target market.

With Dolce & Gabbana partnering with JDS Development Group, a New York-based company specializing in property development and the construction of residential and hotel projects in both New York and Miami, Dolce & Gabbana is bringing to Miami a place where the most prestigious names in luxury have been building exclusive towers and buildings for the past several years.

The brand has partnered with Sierra Blanca Estates in Spain, one of the foremost developers and real estate agencies in the region of Marbella and the Costa del Sol, as well as with Saudi property developer Dar Global (Dar Al Arkan) on its first hotel project in the Maldives, which is already working with luxury brands such as Missoni, Elie Saab, and Versace in the Maldives.

In the meantime, Dolce & Gabbana is not providing any further details about these three projects at this point in time. In terms of real estate, this decision follows the typical path taken by most luxury players in terms of diversifying, thereby creating a lifestyle environment around the brand. The launch of this new chapter in the company's history follows the creation of the Beauty division in 2022 and the launch of the home collections in 2023.

Currently, the brand is developing a line of accessories, tableware, and textiles that will be entirely produced in-house, as well as a line of furnishings that will be managed under license by Luxury Living Group. In order for Dolce & Gabbana's new real estate projects to succeed, these two activities should logically be utilized.
